Book Review: The girl with the louding voice

 Its been a while since i read this one but the message is still loud and clear in my mind- Fight till you can, and more when you can't and believe in your dreams- believe that your voice matters, you matter! ** SPOILERS*** This book is about a little girl, Adunni,who gets married at a tender age, soon after her mother's death, leaving behind her little brother, whom she adores so much and who is like a little kid to her, raised by her. Her marriage to a guy , who already has 2 wives, is aimed at producing a boy- ironically when she herself is a little girl! She befriends one of the wives ( pregnant at the time) and soon accompanies her on a hushed journey to meet the real father of baby, through an illicit affair, majorly done in hope of producing a boy for her husband.  Somehow, the lady dies and this girl has to flee, considering the news of the other wive's death travels fast. She is led to the city by a local guy, who places her  as a house maid at a fabric shop owne...

Book Review: Ask again, Yes

 As i catch up on the long lost world of books, i can't help but think of documenting my thoughts on books am striking off my 'want to read' collection on goodreads. 'Ask again, yes' is a book i devoured in a short time, to say the least. Though the book was concocted on the plot of surviving difficulties, abnormality and tragedy, it  ended with a surprisingly unexpected moment of realization that life is good, amidst odds, falling and rising, gaps and crevices, perfections and imperfections and the decisions we make stay with us ,making us braver than we ever imagine we are. This book made me realize few things: Love can be strong, weak or unsure but the strength of relationships, trust and commitment are what take  someone to the end, to happiness beyond those innumerable moments which can make one give up on the other.  The decisions and sacrifices we make ,make us in the end,  Not every one in this world is in a happy place - the world is cruel, sad and a no...
